Property and Cancellation Policies
Please take note of our terms.
We are a year-round operation with our peak season being the months of June to September and February only.
- Our shoulder season being October to May (excluding February).
- Our motel is only operational in the peak season (June-September)
- A credit card is required to book our accommodations.
- All our accommodations require a non-refundable prepayment of 25% of the total cost of the reservation.
- The non-refundable prepayment is collected at the time of booking.
- Bookings must be cancelled or amended via email before their non-refundable period begins.
- No charges are applied for changes to this reservation outside of the non-refundable period.
PAYMENT POLICIES: A payment of 25% of total reservation fee is required at time of booking. Advanced payments made over the internet are always paid by credit card. By providing a credit card number, you are authorizing Kouch Chalets to bill your credit card for the full amount of reservation, including any costs accrued while at the property, and outstanding balances not paid at time of departure.
PEAK SEASON (June to September and February)
- Deposit collected at booking (25%)
- Balances will be collected on the following schedule:
- Motel units have the balance charged 7 days prior to arrival.
- Loft Chalets Essential and loft Chalets Plus will have the balance collected 21 days prior to arrival.
- The Loft Chalets Premium, and individual Cottages will have the balance collected 45 days prior to arrival.
Cancellations of the above units once the full balance has been collected will result in money becoming non-refundable.
STAT HOLIDAYS: regardless of their date, will be treated as peak season stays, this includes stays within three days (before and after) of the stat holiday.
SHOULDER SEASON (October to May)
- Prepayment collected at booking (25%)
- Balances will be collected on the following schedule:
- Loft Chalet Essential and Loft Chalet Plus have the balance collected 7 days prior to arrival.
- Loft Chalet Premium and unique Cottages will have the balance collected 21 days prior to arrival.
- Cancellations of the above units, once the full balance has been collected, will result in the money becoming non-refundable.
NO SHOW: For guests that do not show up for their booking, our policy is to process the payment as per usual. We also reserve the right to rebook the accommodations to another should we see fit.
DID YOU PURCHASE CANCELLATION COVERAGE?
Travel insurance is recommended in order to protect yourself from unforeseen circumstances that may interfere with your stay. Some loyalty Credit cards offer complementary travel insurance while others may purchase travel insurance from a third party. Purchasing cancellation coverage gives you the peace of mind.
CANCELLATION REQUESTS:
We use our discretion for cancellations that are based on weather or circumstances outside of our control. Weather conditions, travel delays and illness are not a valid reason for cancellation or reservation modifications. Gift certificates will be issued rather than funds returned. Full or partial refunds will not be issued for cancellation or reservation modifications under any circumstances. We are not responsible for changes to guest schedules; therefore, there will be no refunds or credits of any type if guest need to leave early after checking in.
Third party booking sites may have stricter cancellation windows, and the policy listed at the time of booking will be enforced. If the booking was made through a third-party site, guests must cancel or amend it on the site where the booking was made to avoid any confusion or additional fees.
We want our guests to have the best experience available to them. Cancellations can become debilitating for small businesses, and we prefer dedicating our time to guest satisfaction.

Terms and Conditions
Earlier check in or after hour: Early check-in is offered based on availability only. Please contact us. Staff will do their best to accommodate. A charge of $ 15 per hour may be added for earlier check-in and after reception hours (6pm).
Later Check out: Late check-out is offered based on availability only. Please contact us. Staff will do their best to accommodate. A charge of $ 15 per hour may be added.

PEAK SEASON RECEPTION HOURS: office hours are from 9 to 11 am and 3 to 6 pm daily during peak season.
OFF SEASON– RECEPTION CLOSED: arrivals must communicate arrival times in advance to ensure swift check in as reception is typically closed. Please call 506-876-0444 or write to us by email: info@kouch.com to make arrangements.
Guests arriving after our office hours that have not made arrangements for late arrival will not be refunded. Without arrangements for late arrival, we cannot guarantee that the accommodations will not become available to others. A fee of 15 $ hourly will be applied.
MINORS AND CHILDREN : Individuals under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times while on the premises.
Accommodation for people with reduced mobility Certain units are provided to facilitate the stay of a person with reduced mobility, of course, in order to ensure that you are well received, it would be preferable for you to communicate directly with us so that we can reserve the unit adapted to your unique needs.
CAN I BRING MY DOG? = PET FEE :
Advance reservations are required by guests traveling with dogs by emailing info@kouch.com prior to booking pr make sure to precise in the reservation by paying a fee that you are bringing your dog.
All dogs must be registered with the front desk upon arrival. There is a $65 dogfee per stay (3 dogs maximum). Guests keeping unregistered pets will be chargeda $350.00 cleaning fee and may be asked to leave the premises, there by forfeiting any and all prepaid costs. Due to allergies, cats are not allowed onproperty.
- For everyone’s safety, including yours and your dog’s, all pets must be on leash at all times.
- Dogs may be left alone in unit as long they do not cause a disturbance or damages.
- Damage or alterations caused by dogs involve a charge of a minimum of $ 300 to cover the costs of cleaning and repair.
UNIT OCCUPENCY: Any other guest exceeding the number of guests expected per unit must be added to the bill for a fee of $10 per day. This fee is taxable.

WILDLIFE DISCLOSURE:
When booking a reservation with us, you’re stepping into a serene, rural oasis spanning 9 acres adjacent to a National Park—a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of diverse wildlife. Encounter graceful deer, agile foxes, and elusive bears, as well as smaller inhabitants like spiders, squirrels, and birds of prey. Our haven is alive with the wonders of nature, including feral cats, skunks, wasps, mosquitoes, and bees.
While the enchanting and benign encounters with wildlife are the norm, we want to underscore that potentially dangerous situations are exceptionally rare but possible. However, in the interest of transparency and your safety, we choose to disclose the remote possibility of such encounters. As our valued guest, you assume responsibility for any risks and potential bodily injuries that may occur during your stay. In the unlikely event of a wildlife encounter, please promptly notify our staff, empowering them to orchestrate an official and secure removal process.
Your well-being is our top priority, and we are dedicated to providing you with a secure and memorable experience amid the awe-inspiring beauty of our natural surroundings.
*During the summer months in the Kouchibouguac area, we recommend the use of bug spray for an added layer of comfort.
HOUSEKEEPING: We service the chalets and motels on an as-needed basis: If you need new towels, trash taken out, coffee or lotions replaced these are all complimentary services fulfilled upon request. There is a $45 housekeeping fee for cabins to be fully cleaned and refreshed during your stay. To avoid charges of a minimum of $50, the chalets must be rearranged as they were on arrival, the dishes must be washed and returned to the places provided.
PARKING: Each chalet has space for one standard sized vehicle. General parking is also available on site. If you are travelling with additional or oversized vehicles/trailers, please call the front desk to ask about parking options.Please, call ahead and let our team know about all vehicles you are travelling with. Please email info@kouch.com if you’re bringing a large vehicle and/or trailer so we can make arrangements for you in advance.
BBQ GRILLS : There are bbqs on property. We require that all propane tanks are shut off with their valves after every use for safety reasons.
LOST ROOM KEYS: There is a $50 fee for lost room keys not returned to the room lock box.
QUIET HOURS : quiet hours are from 11PM – 8AM
SMOKE-FREE UNITS : Guests should make sure to smoke outside the accommodation units. It is therefore forbidden to smoke in the rooms, chalets or all facilities at Kouch Chalets, with the exception of the section provided for this purpose. Anyone who smokes in places not provided for this purpose may be penalized or even expelled from the property. In cases where smoke-free spaces are damaged or altered by smoke, a charge of a minimum of $300 will be used on the guest’s invoice to cover cleaning and repair costs.
DAMAGES : (Waste) Unit(s) found with waste strewn around, in complete disorder, and/or “trashed” will be subject to maintenance deep cleaning fee, administration fee and/or third party fees. A minimum $100.00 cleaning fee per unit will be applied to the registered guest’s Credit Card and a separate receipt will be emailed.
(Rooms, fixtures, furnishing and equipment)
When entering your unit, if obvious signs of damages has occurred, it is your responsibility to advise the reception, or you will deem responsibility for the damages. Damage to rooms, fixtures, furnishing, and equipment including the removal of electronic equipment, towels, artwork, etc. will be charged at 120% of full and new replacement value plus any shipping and handling charges. Any damage to the property, whether accidental or willful, is the responsibility of the registered guest for each unit. Any costs associated with repairs and/or replacement will be charged to the credit card of the registered guest. In extreme cases, criminal charges will be pursued. A minimum $150.00 repair or replacement fee will be applied to the registered guest’s Credit Card and a separate receipt will be emailed.
(Mattresses & Bedding)
Damage to mattresses and linen including towels, mattress pads, sheets, bedspreads, blankets resulting from the use of hair dye, body oils, make-up, shoe-polish, etc. will result in a charge for the special cleaning, repair, or replacement of the damaged article. A minimum $50.00 ; a minimum of $400 for mattresses and beds, cleaning, repair or replacement fee will be applied to the registered guest’s Credit Card and a separate receipt will be emailed.If you feel the policies are unclear, please don’t hesitate to give us a call for further explanation.
